From the brightly colourful houses in Portobello Road to the traditional Suffolk Pink, colour can play an important part in the identity of a home or building.

According to research from HomeOwners Alliance, the value of a property can be up to 65% more expensive in a street where all homes are painted brightly, but committing to colouring a façade can be a daunting prospect. The exterior of a building should last for many years and gives prospective buyers and tenants an immediate first impression. It’s vital to select the right finish, texture and colour first time around as getting it wrong can be costly to rectify should the colour not be quite as intended.
Applicators can use the new colour façade simulator from Saint-Gobain Weber to show customers exactly how different renders and decorative finishes from Weber, including weberwall brick, would look on their building by uploading a photo of the property or using one of the nine templates.
From Jungle Green and Cornflower Blue to Candyfloss and Berry Smoothie, there are more than 100 colours to choose from and something suitable for every project. It is easy to select the product and finish required, and within a few clicks a colour simulation can be produced.
Elissa Turnbull, product marketing manager for renders at Weber, said:
“Rendering a property is a big undertaking. Most Weber renders and finishes have a potential design life of 25+ years, so it’s important that the homeowner is happy with the final colour choice.
“Whether the property needs to be in keeping with the local surroundings or they want to put an individual stamp on it, the simulator will help to envisage what colour combinations will work well together.”
The webercolour façade simulator is available to use on tablets and smartphones as well as desktop making it easier to use on site and bring a vision to life. Once the design is complete, a PDF can be exported listing the finishes used and a project can be saved ready to come back to later. A handy step-by-step video is also available, as well as some design tips for homeowners unsure of what option to choose.
