Pilkington UK has launched Pilkington SaniTise™ – a flat glass with an antimicrobial coating that can enable the breaking down of viruses, bacteria and fungi on its surface.

The glass is designed to help reduce the transmission of microbes via surfaces in shared spaces like hospitals, GP surgeries and schools.
The company said: “Some viruses can live on glass surfaces for days if left untreated, creating a risk for people to become infected through contact transmission. Pilkington SaniTise™ ultimately helps to reduce the chances of this happening, which could make a big difference in high-touch applications.”
