Door edge protectors were fitted to the leading and meeting edges of the doors, and door protection panels were installed to a specified height so that it shielded the most vulnerable areas.

The colours, Blue and Red, were chosen to distinguish between the contaminated and sterile areas within the hospital unit.

Now installed, the new door protection does not affect the integrity of the fire doors, and comes with the current and relevant fire certificates.
